Artist Statement

As an artist, I am a maker and seeker. I engage with clay, hoping to become clay as I
experience it. I am a subject, and the clay is an object. However, during the making, the
distinction is blurred. Clay has so many possibilities. The possibilities are that clay has the
power to transform, receive, take, and give. I dissect, duplicate, assemble, and pile my body parts
made with clay. It’s my obsession to find what my body is.
